This year’s event was the first since the merger with Minish Technology in August, and the number of Mochigua branded dental clinics remains the same as before the merger, with more than 40 locations nationwide. The event was held at the “Mochigua Group & Minish Technology Merger Commemorative Guest Lecture and Dinner,” which presented the synergistic direction of Mochigua’s 30 years of operational know-how and Minish’s technology and brand.

Expanding beyond Japan to the US market

Minish Technology, a healthtech company, announced today that it has graduated 22 students from its 15th Minish Course for dentists in the United States. The course was held at the Vita North America Training Center in Orange County, California, U.S.A., for three days from April 24th. The course, which is recognized as Continuing Education for dentists in the U.S., attracted high interest and sold out early despite the course fee being 50% higher than other training programs in the region.

In the late 2000s, amid the “laminate” craze sweeping through the heart of Gangnam, Seoul, dentist and successful practitioner Kang Jeong-ho constantly found himself wrestling with one question. “If it’s a treatment I wouldn’t recommend to my own family, I shouldn’t perform it on my patients.”
This conviction ultimately led him to forgo the stable path of running a dental clinic and instead found the medical technology venture MINISH Technology. The result was astonishing. Founded in 2021, the company’s valuation surged from 50 billion KRW last year to over 90 billion KRW this year, with cumulative investments reaching 25.9 billion KRW. Following revenue of around 10 billion KRW last year, the company is on track to reach 20 billion KRW by the end of this year, demonstrating rapid growth. His business model, which shifts the game from competition—taking a share of the existing dental market—to creation—building an entirely new one—has drawn significant attention.

Healthtech company Minish Technology today released the Minish Report, which analyzes the tooth perception of women aged 25 to 39.
The report is based on a combination of surveys, clinical case analysis, expert columns, and patient interviews. The survey was conducted on September 10-11 via TillianPro among 1,000 women aged 25-39 in Korea, with a single response for dental satisfaction and multiple responses for other questions. According to the report, seven out of 10 respondents (70.3%) said they have engaged in negative behavior because of their teeth. The most common behavior was covering their mouth with their hand when smiling or speaking (35.5%), followed by taking photos or videos with an expressionless face (21.5%) and feeling embarrassed about being judged on their appearance (20.9%). Functional reasons such as pain (12.8%) and pronunciation issues (7.4%) were less common. In terms of satisfaction with their teeth, 39.4% were dissatisfied, 32.3% were satisfied, and 28.3% were satisfied. In the report, Dr. Yoon Pil-sang, director of Minish Dental Hospital, shared a treatment case of a woman in her 30s who developed senile facial hair due to tooth wear.
